Madhya Pradesh Police have successfully arrested all six individuals involved in the assault case on a young Army officer and his friend in Indore district. The incident took place at the Army firing range, where the officer and his friend were attacked, and one of their female friends was allegedly sexually assaulted.

Details of the Incident

Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG, Rural) Nimish Agarwal stated that the incident occurred under the Badgonda police station limits in Indore rural area. Initially, two accused were arrested on Wednesday, followed by one more on Thursday, and the remaining three on Friday. The accused were hiding in the forest when they were apprehended.

Charges and Investigation

The accused have been charged under various sections, including ransom, robbery, and gang rape. During preliminary interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime, with two of them being involved in violating the victim. Further investigation is ongoing, and the women’s statements will be recorded when required.

Indore Rural SP Hitika Vasal mentioned that the incident occurred at the Army firing range late at night. The complainant reported that their female friend was taken to a corner, and he heard her screams, leading them to suspect that something untoward had happened to her. The police received information about the incident and reached the spot immediately, but the accused had escaped by then.
