Madhya Pradesh Ministers to Pay Their Own Taxes
New Rules Announced by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav
The Madhya Pradesh cabinet has made a significant decision that state ministers will now be responsible for paying their own income tax. This means they will not receive any financial help from the state government for this purpose.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav explained that this decision changes a rule from 1972, which previously allowed the state government to cover the tax expenses of ministers and parliamentary secretaries.
The official handle of the Chief Minister also posted on X, “The income tax rule of 1972 is being changed.”
State Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya provided further details about other cabinet decisions. He mentioned that the Public Works Department (PWD) will now coordinate railway projects in Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, the state government will provide scholarships to students from Madhya Pradesh who are studying in Sainik Schools outside the state.
