Madhya Pradesh CM Praises New Indore-Mumbai Railway Project Approved by PM Modi
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav praised the Narendra Modi-led central government for approving a new railway project between Indore and Mumbai. The project, costing approximately Rs. 18,036 crore, will be implemented by the Ministry of Railways.
Project Details
The new railway line will connect Ujjain to Mumbai, passing through Mahakaleshwar to Trimbakeshwar and linking four Jyotirlingas. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the project.
Significance
CM Yadav highlighted the project’s potential to benefit the tribal regions of Malwa and Nimar, which have faced significant migration due to the lack of a railway line. He expressed hope that the project would improve the livelihoods of the tribal population.

CM Yadav said, “It truly feels like the government of a 56-inch man.” He also mentioned that Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw encouraged him to propose new railway projects and assured central government support.
