Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav held a meeting with district collectors and commissioners via video conferencing to review soybean procurement, fertiliser availability, and distribution. The meeting took place at CM House on Saturday.

Strict Actions Against Black Marketing

CM Yadav directed officials to take strict action against those involved in black marketing, adulteration, misbranding, and the sale of fake fertilisers. He emphasized the need for continuous monitoring of fertiliser movement between districts to control illegal transportation. Actions against black marketeers and illegal traders will be taken under the National Security Act (NSA).

Adequate Fertiliser Supply

CM Yadav assured that there is an adequate supply of fertilisers in the state for Kharif 2024-25. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for approving soybean procurement under the Price Support Scheme and instructed officials to make appropriate arrangements for procurement.

Promoting NPK Fertilisers

The Chief Minister emphasized promoting the use of NPK fertiliser and liquid nano urea instead of DAP to reduce dependency on other countries. He expressed satisfaction over the increased use of NPK fertilisers in Kharif 2024, which reached 45 percent, up from 26 percent in 2023-24.

Accurate Crop Damage Assessment

CM Yadav directed district collectors to ensure accurate crop damage assessment in collaboration with the revenue department and public representatives. He also instructed officials to coordinate with the Agricultural Production Commissioner for necessary actions regarding double-lock storage of fertilisers.

Rabi Season Preparations

The Chief Minister highlighted that there is an adequate supply of fertilisers for the upcoming Rabi 2024-25 season. He asked district collectors to coordinate with senior officials to ensure smooth distribution without disruptions. He also encouraged promoting natural farming and the use of NPK and liquid nano urea.

Soybean Procurement Details

Soybean procurement under the Price Support Scheme will start on October 25, 2024, and continue until December 31, 2024, at 1,400 centres across the state. Payments to farmers will be made online. Soybean procurement will not take place in seven districts: Datia, Bhind, Katni, Mandla, Balaghat, Sidhi, and Singrauli, but proposals from these districts will be considered if submitted.
