Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav Announces Tank Manufacturing and New Industries
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has announced that the state, which was previously engaged in manufacturing cannons, will now also be making tanks for the army. This announcement was made during the Regional Industry Conclave held at the Subhash Chandra Bose Cultural and Information Center in Jabalpur district.
During the conclave, an agreement worth Rs 600 crores was signed between Ashok Leyland and Armored Vehicle Corporation Limited in the presence of CM Yadav. This significant investment aims to promote development and innovation in the defense production sector.
CM Yadav emphasized the importance of setting up industries in various sectors, including textiles, defense equipment manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and tourism. He announced the establishment of an ultra-modern skill development center in the textile sector, which will provide employment opportunities for women.
At the conclave, CM Yadav laid the foundation stone for 29 industrial units and performed the groundbreaking ceremony for 38 units, initiating a total of 67 new industrial units. These units will attract investments worth Rs 1500 crores and create 4500 new jobs.
CM Yadav highlighted that Madhya Pradesh is rich in minerals and has transparent processes for auctioning mines, which have been recognized by the Government of India. He also mentioned that diamond cutting will start in the state.
The CM urged industrialists to invest in Madhya Pradesh, citing encouraging policies in the labor sector and increased employment opportunities through universities. He noted the growth in the number of medical colleges and the potential in the state’s dense forest areas.
CM Yadav also pointed out that the state has 275 units in the pharmaceutical sector, with 60 units in Pithampur alone, exporting products to over 160 countries. The state is focusing on the food processing sector, with relief provided to industries on water and electricity supply. Two mega food parks are being developed, and eight are already operational.
