Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav Ends Nightlife in Indore
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], July 13: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has decided to end the ‘nightlife’ in Indore district. This decision came after public representatives complained that nightlife was promoting liquor consumption and illegal drug trade in the city.
CM Yadav announced that a new system would be put in place for the operation of night markets and business institutions in Indore. Following his instructions, Indore Collector Ashish Singh cancelled the previous order that allowed 24-hour operation for various commercial institutions in the BRTS corridor from Niranjanpur Square to Rajiv Gandhi Square in Indore city.
The decision was made after CM Yadav held a meeting with ministers, MLAs, and other public representatives of the Indore division through video conferencing. During the meeting, Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya raised concerns about the illegal drug trade and the need for a new system for night markets and business operations.
CM Yadav directed that a detailed action plan be created to implement the new system and effectively ban illegal drug trade. Strict action will be taken against those involved in illegal activities.
As per the instructions of CM Yadav, Collector Ashish Singh has cancelled the order issued on September 13, 2022, which permitted 24×7 operations for various commercial, industrial, and office institutions in the BRTS corridor, spanning 11.45 km from Niranjanpur Square to Rajiv Gandhi Square in Indore city.
