The Madhya Pradesh Madarsa Board has issued an order to cancel the affiliation of 56 madrasas in Sheopur district after they were found non-operational. This decision was made following a physical inspection conducted by the District Education Officer (DEO) of Sheopur.

Inspection and Findings

All District Education Officers across the state have been instructed to inspect madrasas in their areas. During these inspections, any madrasa not operating according to state government rules will have its affiliation proposed for cancellation. The DEO of Sheopur formed a team to verify the operation of 80 madrasas (54 aided and 26 non-aided) in the district. The inspection revealed that 56 of these madrasas were completely non-operational.

Actions Taken

A show cause notice was issued to the concerned madrasas on July 16, requesting a reply within three working days. However, no replies were received. Consequently, the Madhya Pradesh Madarsa Board issued an order on July 29 to withdraw the affiliation of the 56 non-operational madrasas. All government facilities provided to these madrasas will be stopped immediately.

Future Steps

The DEO of Sheopur has been instructed to ensure that students from these non-operational madrasas are admitted to other madrasas or government schools in the district.
