Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Approves Smart-PDS and Other Key Policies

The Madhya Pradesh cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, has approved the implementation of the Smart-PDS scheme. This scheme aims to modernize the Public Distribution System with a budget of Rs 8.35 crore over three years. It will address issues related to software applications, database variations, data recovery, and cyber security. The ‘One Nation-One Ration Card’ initiative will allow eligible families to get ration from any fair price shop in the country.

The cabinet also extended the Special Recruitment Drive for filling backlog posts of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and Persons with Disabilities by one year, from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025. Out of 17,000 backlog posts, 7,000 have been filled.

Additionally, the cabinet approved a 4% increase in Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief for government employees and pensioners, effective from July 1, 2023. This brings the total Dearness Allowance to 46%.

The Madhya Pradesh Cloud Policy-2024 was also approved to provide cloud services to various departments through the Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (MPSEDC). A Cloud Monitoring Unit (CMU) will be established to manage these services.

The due date for short-term crop loans for the Kharif 2023 season was extended from March 28, 2024, to May 31, 2024, for farmers who have not received payment for their produce by April 30, 2024.

Lastly, the cabinet approved the draft of the MP Private Security Agencies (Private Security for Cash Transport Activities) Rules, 2024, allowing private security agencies to handle cash transport activities.
