The Central government has decided to reappoint M Rajeshwar Rao as the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for another year. This reappointment will take effect from October 9, 2024, or until further orders are issued. Rao initially took on the role of Deputy Governor in September 2020 for a three-year term and received a one-year extension in 2023.
