Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended the passing out parade of the 16th Basic Recruit Training Course batch of the J-K Police in Reasi. He declared that terrorism is nearing its end in the region and urged new recruits to help eliminate it.

Sinha said, “Terrorism is breathing its last breath, and this has made our neighbour, an exporter of terror, desperate. The recent terror acts are a sign of our enemy’s desperation. Our aim is the complete elimination of terrorism. We must hunt down the terrorists and their aides, who are harbouring them.”

A total of 860 new recruit constables of the border battalion completed their rigorous training at the Subsidiary Police Training Centre in Talwara, Reasi district. The Lt. Governor congratulated the new recruits and emphasized the need for high motivation and professionalism to tackle emerging threats like drug trafficking, cybercrime, and radicalization.

He expressed confidence in the J-K Police, the Army, and security agencies, stating, “I have great faith in J-K Police, the Army, and our security agencies. They are not only responsive to the safety and urgent needs of citizens but also effectively tackling terrorism in cyberspace.”

Sinha also commended the J-K Police for their civic action programs and committed to modernizing the police force and supporting the welfare of police and security personnel and their families. He took the Rashtriya Salute, inspected the parade, and handed over awards and certifications to outstanding achievers.

The Subsidiary Police Training Centre in Reasi is dedicated to training and imparting policing values and professional skills to meet the challenges of terrorism and law and order. Sinha praised the J-K Police for their valour, sacrifice, and selfless service, stating, “J-K Police have always shown a high level of professional excellence under extremely challenging circumstances. For several decades, this elite police force has worked with dedication to preserve the integrity and security of our country and has kept the wheels of J&K’s progress moving.”
