Lt Governor Manoj Sinha Inaugurates Litchi Festival in Jammu

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the Litchi Festival and Agriculture exhibition, organized by the Horticulture Department, in Jammu. He highlighted the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP) as a significant initiative for the region’s agriculture and allied sectors.

Commitment to Farmers’ Welfare

In his address, Lt Governor Sinha congratulated progressive farmers, growers, and stakeholders. He emphasized the administration’s dedication to farmers’ welfare and exploring new ways to bring prosperity to their lives.

Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP)

Sinha noted that HADP has become a game-changer for Jammu and Kashmir’s agriculture. He mentioned that 29 projects under HADP could address farmers’ challenges and diversify their income sources. He called for collective efforts for effective implementation, especially in the Jammu Division.

Future Plans for Litchi Cultivation

The administration aims to convert about 160 hectares of litchi cultivation into high-density plantations in the coming years. Sinha assured farmers of the necessary support and assistance in marketing litchi and other fruits.

Recognition and Support

Lt Governor Sinha visited stalls set up by farmers and entrepreneurs, felicitated winners in the best stall category, and released a book on litchi cultivation. Progressive farmers shared their success stories and thanked the government for schemes like HADP.
