Lt Gen Abhijit Pendharkar Reviews Security in Manipur

Three Spear Corps Commander Lt Gen Abhijit Pendharkar visited the Assam Rifles formation at Churachandpur in Manipur on Saturday. He reviewed the internal security situation and operational preparedness. The Corps Commander praised all ranks for their high standards of professionalism, selfless commitment, and high morale.

Interaction with Manipur’s Chief Minister

Chinar Corps Commander Visits Jammu and Kashmir

On August 2, the Chinar Corps Commander reviewed the security situation in Kupwara and Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir. He visited forward posts of Vajr and Dagger Divisions to assess operational preparedness. During his interaction with the troops, he emphasized the need for alertness and effective countering of any threats along the Line of Control (LC).

Recent Incident at the Line of Control

Days before the Chinar Corps visit, armed personnel from Pakistan crossed the LC in the Machhal Sector of Kupwara district. They fired on a forward Army post, taking advantage of bad weather and poor visibility. In the ensuing exchange of fire, one Pakistani intruder was killed, and one Indian Army soldier, who was injured, succumbed to his injuries. Weapons, ammunition, and war-like stores were recovered from the intruder.
