A lorry carrying endangered animals overturned near the Mondigutta forest check post in Telangana’s Nirmal district. The vehicle was transporting eight crocodiles, two white elephants, two tigers, and other animals from Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park in Patna to Bannerghatta Biological Park in Bengaluru.

Details of the Incident

The accident occurred when the driver, Abdul Mannan Mandal, lost control of the lorry, causing it to crash into cement pillars on NH-44 and overturn. The incident happened on Wednesday at around 1 PM.

Police Action

The Nirmal district Superintendent of Police reported that a case was registered against the driver for rash and negligent driving under Section 281 BNS of Mamada PS. The driver, a resident of Sankpur, Gopal Nagar, West Bengal, was held responsible for the accident.

Animal Safety

Despite the crash, all the animals were safely rescued from the overturned lorry.
