During a visit to Odisha, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla emphasized the crucial role of education in nation-building. Speaking at the inauguration of the KIIT School of Public Policy in Bhubaneswar, Birla stated that education empowers individuals with essential knowledge and skills, driving innovation, economic growth, and social harmony.

Birla highlighted the resilience of India’s democratic values, noting that the people are the ultimate guardians of their freedom and rights. He stressed the importance of collective commitment to protecting democracy, ensuring it remains vibrant and enduring.

Discussing India’s economic landscape, Birla noted the increase in foreign investment due to the rule of law, which boosts investor confidence. He emphasized India’s growing global stature and the importance of the ancient Indian philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, promoting global peace and stability.

Birla also underscored the importance of inclusive public policy, which reflects the diverse needs of the community, fostering a sense of belonging and active participation in democracy. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership in advancing India in various spheres.

Earlier, Birla interacted with students at the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences, highlighting the role of education in nation-building and expressing confidence in the youth’s ability to contribute to India’s development by 2047.
