On October 14, Lok Sabha MP Vishnu Dayal Ram participated in a coordinating meeting of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) during the 149th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland. The event was highlighted by the Permanent Mission of India in Geneva on social media.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is leading the Indian parliamentary delegation at the IPU Assembly, which runs from October 13 to 17. The delegation includes notable members such as Harivansh, Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha, and MPs Bhartruhari Mahtab, Anurag Singh Thakur, Rajeev Shukla, Aparajita Sarangi, Sasmit Patra, Mamata Mohanta, and Vishnu Dayal Ram. Utpal Kumar Singh, Secretary-General of Lok Sabha, and PC Mody, Secretary-General of Rajya Sabha, are also part of the team.

Om Birla will address the Assembly on the theme “Harnessing science, technology and innovation for a more peaceful and sustainable future.” The Indian delegation will engage in various meetings, including those of the Executive Committee and the four Standing Committees. Birla will also participate in the IPU’s Governing Council meetings and meet with parliamentary counterparts from other countries. Additionally, he will address the Indian diaspora in Geneva on October 14.
