Lok Sabha Adjourned After PM Modi’s Speech Amid Opposition Protests
The Lok Sabha was adjourned sine die on Tuesday after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s reply to the debate on the President’s address. During his speech, opposition members raised slogans about the situation in Manipur.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh condemned the opposition’s behavior, stating it violated parliamentary traditions. Speaker Om Birla emphasized that the House must run according to rules. Home Minister Amit Shah supported Singh’s motion, which was adopted by voice vote.
This session was the first of the 18th Lok Sabha, following the recent elections. The BJP-led NDA formed its third successive government, winning 293 seats, while the opposition INDIA bloc won 243 seats.
