Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], September 25: Lockheed Martin and Tata Advanced Systems Limited have teamed up to establish a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in India. This facility will support the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) fleet of C-130J aircraft and expand manufacturing and assembly in India for the IAF’s Medium Transport Aircraft program.

The 10th edition of the India Suppliers Conference was held in Bengaluru and inaugurated by Priyank Mallikarjun Kharge, Karnataka’s Minister for Information Technology and Biotechnology. He highlighted Karnataka’s commitment to self-reliance through local manufacturing.

During the event, Rossell India Limited was honored as an Outstanding Supplier by Lockheed Martin’s Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) Global Supply Chain Organization for their timely support and customer-first approach, which were crucial for the success of the MH-60R program. Another Indian company, Veer-O-Metals, was also recognized for their exceptional responsiveness and understanding of requirements, significantly contributing to the MH-60R program’s success.

Earlier this month, Lockheed Martin and Tata Advanced Systems Limited expanded their business relationship through the C-130J Super Hercules tactical airlifter. This agreement includes establishing an MRO facility in India and expanding C-130J manufacturing and assembly for the IAF’s Medium Transport Aircraft program.

Lockheed Martin and Tata Advanced Systems Limited have a long-standing partnership through their joint venture, Tata Lockheed Martin Aerostructures Ltd. (TLMAL), established in 2010. TLMAL supports the Indian government’s “Make in India” initiative and is the sole global source of C-130J empennage assemblies for all new Super Hercules aircraft produced in the United States. To date, TLMAL has manufactured over 220 C-130J empennages.
