In New Delhi, athlete Lili Das expressed her joy at becoming the fastest Indian runner at the Delhi Half Marathon. She won the women’s race with a time of 1:18:12 hours. Despite expecting a podium finish, she was surprised to secure the first position. Kavita Yadav, last year’s winner, finished second, and Priti Lamba came third.

Lili shared her experience, mentioning it was her first marathon and she faced challenges, including a cramp after 19 kilometers. Despite this, she managed to finish strong. She hopes to improve her timing in future races.

In the men’s race, Sawan Barwal emerged victorious, improving from last year’s third place. He completed the race in 1:02:46 hours, ahead of Puneet Yadav and Kiran Matre. Barwal expressed satisfaction with his performance and aims to compete in the Asian Championships in 2025.
