Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s Visit to Ganderbal
On October 22, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited Gagangir in Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir, to meet with officers and workers of the Project Implementing Agency. The visit aimed to review security measures at the project site following a recent terror attack.
Security Meeting and Directives
During his visit, LG Sinha chaired a meeting with officials from the Police, Civil Administration, and security agencies. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the security grid to prevent terror incidents and promote development. The Lieutenant Governor highlighted the need for securing vital infrastructure projects and ensuring the safety of workers and officers.
Security Measures and Assistance
LG Sinha directed stricter access control and regular patrolling around project sites. He also instructed security forces to conduct proactive counter-terrorism operations. Additionally, he ordered financial assistance for families affected by the Gagangir terror attack, with APCO Infratech providing compensation to victims’ families.
Compensation for Victims
Under the SRE, Rs 6 lakh will be given to the next of kin of each martyred civilian, with Rs 15 lakh provided by APCO Infratech. An ex-gratia amount of Rs 2 lakh will be given to all injured. The company will also offer financial assistance under a Corporate Personal Accident Policy.

On Sunday, a tragic incident occurred when terrorists attacked a construction site in Gagangir, resulting in the deaths of a doctor, a designer, and five construction workers.
