Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Assures Support to Victims of Gagangir Terror Attack
In Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has directed immediate financial assistance for the families affected by the Gagangir terrorist attack. He instructed Chandraker Bharti, Principal Secretary of the Home Department, to ensure swift aid. APCO Infratech company is also tasked with releasing compensation promptly.
Under the Security Related Expenditure (SRE) scheme, Rs six lakh will be given to the families of each martyred civilian, and Rs 15 lakh will be provided by APCO Infratech as an immediate measure. Additionally, Rs two lakh will be given to those injured. The company will also offer financial support through a Corporate Personal Accident Policy and five years of gross CTC as insurance compensation. All labor and third-party employees are covered under the workman compensation policy.
Lieutenant Governor Sinha emphasized the commitment to providing financial assistance and support to the victims’ families, acknowledging the loss as irreparable. He expressed condolences and urged the J&K Police to swiftly identify the perpetrators.
The attack in Gagangir, Ganderbal district, resulted in the deaths of a doctor, a designer, and five construction workers. Mohsin Shahnawaz Dar, the son of Dr. Shahnawaz Dar, one of the victims, shared his grief and aspirations. He expressed his father’s wish for him to become a doctor, but Mohsin dreams of becoming an IAS officer. He appealed for administrative support to achieve his goals.
