Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], September 7, 2024: Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani, Vice Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army, emphasized the Indian Army’s readiness against new threats from Pakistan and China. He spoke at the Passing Out Parade held at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai.

The parade marked the graduation of Short Service Commission (SSC)-118, SSC (W)-32, and equivalent courses. A total of 258 Officer Cadets and 39 Women Officer Cadets were commissioned into various Arms and Services of the Indian Army. Additionally, 10 Officer Cadets and 5 Women Officer Cadets from friendly foreign countries completed their training.

The event was a proud moment for the Officer Cadets, their families, and the OTA staff. Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani reviewed the parade and presented awards, including the Sword of Honour to BUO Samrath Singh, the Gold Medal to BUO Simran Singh Rathi, the Silver Medal to AUO Tanishka Damodran, and the Bronze Medal to ACA Devesh Chandra Joshi.

In his address, Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani lauded the achievements of the Officer Cadets and OTA staff. He urged the newly commissioned officers to uphold military values, embrace new technologies, and lead with empathy and discipline. The ceremony concluded with the Pipping Ceremony, where the new officers pledged allegiance to the Constitution of India.

The event was attended by proud parents, dignitaries, and members of the diplomatic community, celebrating the dedication and commitment of the future leaders of the Indian Army.
