Liberia’s Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung Visits Delhi for India-Africa Business Conclave
Liberia’s Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung arrived in Delhi on Monday to attend the 19th CII India-Africa Business Conclave. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) official spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal welcomed him, stating that the visit will further strengthen the bilateral ties between India and Liberia.
Jaiswal shared on X, “Warm welcome to VP Jeremiah Kpan Koung of Liberia as he arrives in New Delhi for the 19th CII India-Africa Business Conclave. An opportunity to further bolster India-Liberia partnership.”
India and Liberia have maintained warm and friendly relations, with Liberia supporting India’s candidature at various United Nations fora. In May 2021, India opened a resident Mission in Liberia’s capital, Monrovia.
The 19th CII India-Africa Business Conclave, held from August 20-22 in New Delhi, aims to promote Africa’s growth and the role of the India-Africa partnership in regional and global value chain integration. India, the fastest-growing large economy, is currently the 5th largest economy with an estimated GDP of USD 3.7 trillion for FY24.
Earlier in June, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar emphasized the rapid changes in Africa and its potential as the land of the future. He noted that India views Africa as a ‘natural partner’ with trust and mutual respect, focusing on value addition within Africa through production, research, localization, and local employment.
