In Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, four people, including three children, were injured in separate animal attacks. A leopard attacked a 13-year-old girl named Sahiba and a 35-year-old man named Madhusudan near Katarniaghat. Sahiba’s mother, Sabina Khatoon, described how the leopard pounced on Sahiba from the roof, but the girl fell down as the animal tried to escape.

In the Bahraich forest division, two other incidents, suspected to be wolf attacks, were reported. A 5-year-old girl named Mamata from Nakha village was bitten on the neck by a wolf but was rescued by her family. A six-month-old infant named Rajesh was also allegedly attacked by a wolf in Ghumni village.

Authorities, including Katarniaghat Divisional Forest Officer Shiv Shankar and District Forest Officer Ajeet Singh, confirmed the leopard attack and shared initial findings on the suspected wolf attacks. Efforts to capture the animals have been hindered by heavy rainfall.
