In Beirut, Lebanon, on October 11, following a cabinet meeting, Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati announced a significant decision by the government. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has requested the government to formally ask the United Nations Security Council for a resolution. This resolution demands an immediate ceasefire and the implementation of UN Resolution 1701, as reported by Lebanon’s National News Agency.

Prime Minister Mikati also expressed strong condemnation of Israel’s ongoing violations of Lebanese sovereignty. He described the attacks on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) bases as a “crime” and called upon the international community to take action in response.
