Lawyer Files Complaint Against Former Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Over Adulterated Ghee at Tirupati Temple
New Delhi, India – A Supreme Court lawyer, Vineet Jindal, has filed a complaint with the Home Ministry and the Directors General of Police of Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. The complaint is against former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, officials of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), and a contractor for allegedly supplying adulterated non-vegetarian ghee to the Tirupati Temple.
Allegations of Adulteration
Vineet Jindal claims that the accused parties knowingly supplied adulterated ghee, which included foreign fats like palm oil, fish oil, beef tallow, and lard (pig fat), to the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati. This ghee was used in the laddoo prasadam, a sacred offering consumed by millions of Hindu devotees.
Impact on Religious Sentiments
The complaint emphasizes that this act has deeply hurt the religious sentiments of devotees and desecrated the sanctity of one of the most revered Hindu temples. The lawyer demands the registration of an FIR under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and calls for strict legal action, including the invocation of the National Security Act (NSA), against all those involved.
Accusations by Former Chief Minister
Former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has also accused the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government of using animal fat and substandard ingredients instead of pure ghee for the laddoo prasadam. He further alleged that former TTD Executive Officer Dharma Reddy awarded the ghee contract to a favored Delhi-based company, which supplied the adulterated product.
Call for Legal Action
The complaint describes these actions as a deliberate attempt to malign Hindu faith and calls for swift legal action to address these offenses. The lawyer argues that the actions of the accused were intentional, aimed at earning commissions and tarnishing the purity of Hindu rituals.
