Lanka T10 Super League Begins in Kandy
The first-ever Lanka T10 Super League is set to take place in the beautiful city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. All matches will be held at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium from December 12 to 22. This new tournament is a significant addition to Sri Lanka’s cricket calendar, featuring top international and Sri Lankan players, along with emerging talents.
Teams and Players
Six teams will compete: Colombo Strikers, Galle Marvels, Hambantota Bangla Tigers, Jaffna Titans, Kandy Bolts, and Negombo Braves. Each team will have 15 to 17 players, including seven international stars. The player registration closed on November 1, with each team required to sign players from different categories, including Icon and Platinum players.
Draft Process
The draft consists of 11 rounds. The first round is decided manually, while the rest use a randomizer to ensure fairness. In the first two rounds, teams will pick top-tier players, one Sri Lankan and one international, each costing USD 35,000. Subsequent rounds will see players selected at varying prices, with a focus on emerging talents in later rounds.
