Dehradun (Uttrakhand) [India], August 18: After returning from the Paris Olympics, Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen shared his experience of meeting Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Sen, who narrowly missed a bronze medal, made history by becoming the first Indian to reach the semi-finals in men’s singles badminton at the Olympics.

Sen expressed his gratitude, saying, “I received a lot of support from everyone…I had breakfast with Uttarakhand CM. He always motivates me to perform well…As an athlete, it feels really good when the Chief Minister supports and motivates you.”

India ended its campaign at the Paris Olympics with six medals, including five bronze and one silver. Manu Bhaker secured third place in the women’s individual 10m Air pistol event, becoming the first Indian woman shooter to win an Olympic medal. Bhaker also won a bronze in the 10m air pistol mixed team event with Sarabjot Singh, marking India’s first shooting team medal. She narrowly missed a third medal in the women’s 25m pistol event, finishing fourth.

Neeraj Chopra won a silver medal in the men’s javelin throw with a best throw of 89.45 meters. The Indian men’s hockey team, led by Harmanpreet Singh, won back-to-back bronze medals for the first time in 52 years, defeating Spain 2-1. Wrestler Aman Sehrawat secured a bronze medal with a 13-5 victory over Puerto Rico’s Darian Cruz.
