Lahore High Court Orders Police to Find Missing YouTuber Aun Ali Khosa by August 20
The Lahore High Court (LHC) has instructed the police to locate YouTuber Aun Ali Khosa by August 20. Khosa was reportedly taken by unknown armed men from his apartment between Wednesday and Thursday night.
His wife, Binish Iqbal, filed a petition claiming that Aun is in the unlawful custody of law enforcement authorities. The petition expressed concerns for his safety and feared he might be a victim of enforced disappearance.
Justice Shahbaz Ali Rizvi heard the petition and directed the capital city police officer (CCPO) Lahore to produce the artist in court on August 20. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Lahore, Faisal Kamran, stated that the police had not received any complaints regarding Khosa’s abduction but would investigate once a formal complaint is lodged.
The petition described Aun as a digital content creator, writer, and comedian with 137,000 YouTube subscribers. It claimed that a dozen police officers and masked men forcibly entered his apartment, seizing his phone, laptop, computer system, and digital camera. The solicitor was allegedly manhandled and pushed into a vehicle before the men drove away.
On August 15, Aun’s brother, Ali Sher Khosa, alleged that the incident occurred while Aun was in his Lahore apartment. He urged people to pray for Aun’s safe return and help raise awareness of the situation.
The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has raised concerns that the incident may be related to Aun’s work as a satirist and called for his immediate recovery.
