Kylian Mbappe’s Injury Update: Will He Play Against Poland in EURO 2024?

In Dortmund, Germany, ahead of France’s crucial match against Poland in the Group D of EURO 2024, French midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni provided an important update on their captain, Kylian Mbappe. Mbappe, who suffered a fractured nose during the match against Austria, is determined to play in the upcoming game.

Mbappe was injured in the 86th minute of the game against Austria and was replaced by Olivier Giroud. Despite reports suggesting that Mbappe might miss the next 15 games, Tchouameni confirmed that the star player is keen to return to the field. He mentioned that Mbappe is getting accustomed to wearing a protective mask, which is necessary for his recovery.

Tchouameni praised Mbappe, highlighting his significant contributions to the team. He said, “I think he wants to play the next match. His mask? He’s getting used to it. He might like to play without it, but the doc isn’t going to give him the choice! When he’s on the field he will bring us a lot of things.”

Mbappe, who debuted internationally in 2017, has played 80 matches and scored 47 goals for France. Recently, he made headlines by joining Real Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on a free transfer.

France started EURO 2024 with a 1-0 win against Austria, thanks to an own goal. However, without Mbappe, they drew with the Netherlands in their last match. Currently, France is second in Group D with four points from two games. They aim to win their next match to secure a spot in the knockout stage of the tournament.
