Kuwait Supports Peace Efforts in Sudan and Sends Humanitarian Aid
Dubai [UAE], August 25: Kuwait has expressed its support for the joint statement issued by the Aligned for Advancing Lifesaving and Peace in Sudan (ALPS) Group, which recently mediated intra-Sudan talks in Geneva, according to the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry.
In a press statement, the Ministry praised the mediation efforts of regional and global partners involved in the Geneva talks. The Ministry also commended the agreement to open crossings and secure routes to ensure the delivery of international humanitarian aid to the Sudanese people.
Additionally, the Ministry welcomed the call to adhere to the Jeddah Declaration, issued in May 2023. Kuwait reiterated its commitment to providing humanitarian aid to the Sudanese people through its air bridge, which has already completed 24 trips carrying tonnes of humanitarian aid.
