KT Rama Rao Denies Congress’ Claims of BRS-BJP Secret Agreement

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], August 15: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao has denied Congress’ allegations that BRS has a ‘secret understanding’ with the BJP. He stated that if such an agreement existed, his sister K Kavitha would not have been jailed for 150 days in connection with the Delhi excise policy scam.

Rao questioned the Congress’ claims during a public gathering, asking, ‘Is any Congress leader in jail today? Who has a secret agreement? We or them?’ He emphasized that BRS will continue to work for the people and strengthen its presence, dismissing any claims of a merger or secret deals with BJP.

Rao highlighted that BRS has been active for 24 years and aims to last for another 24 or 50 years. He noted that despite many wishing for the party’s disappearance, BRS remains strong and has won two elections since Telangana was formed.

Earlier, Congress in Telangana alleged that BRS shifted its votes to BJP in many constituencies during the recent Lok Sabha polls. In the 2024 Lok Sabha election, Congress and BJP each won 8 out of 17 seats in the state, while AIMIM won one seat, and BRS did not win any seats.
