KT Rama Rao Criticizes Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Over Musi River Project

In Hyderabad, Telangana, KT Rama Rao, the Working President of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of spreading false information about the Musi River rejuvenation project. During a press conference at the BRS headquarters, KTR claimed that Reddy is planning the country’s largest corruption scandal by inflating the project cost from 16,800 crore rupees to 1,50,000 crore rupees under the guise of beautification.

KTR highlighted inconsistencies in Reddy’s statements, noting that the project budget was initially mentioned as 50,000 crore rupees but was later changed. He presented a PowerPoint detailing the BRS government’s efforts over the past decade, including the construction of Sewage Treatment Plants costing over 3,800 crore rupees to treat wastewater before it enters the Musi River.

KTR accused Reddy of planning to misuse the project for corruption by hiring dubious companies like Mainhard as consultants, which have been involved in financial crimes in other countries. He urged the government not to displace the poor for corrupt plans and warned of protests if the project harms the underprivileged. KTR advised completing the project using previous plans, which could be done for 20,000 crore rupees instead of inflating it to 1.5 lakh crore rupees.
