KT Rama Rao Criticizes BJP and Congress Over ED Silence in Telangana
In Hyderabad, Telangana, KT Rama Rao, the working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has raised concerns about the silence of both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress regarding recent actions by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED). He questioned the lack of scrutiny on Congress leaders in Telangana, suggesting a hidden alliance between BJP and Congress in the state.
ED Raids and Allegations
KTR highlighted two significant cases involving ED investigations. He mentioned a raid at the residence of Telangana Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, where media reports suggested the discovery of large sums of cash. Despite this, no statements were made by Congress, BJP, or the ED.
On September 27, the ED conducted raids at the residence of Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and premises linked to his son Harsha Reddy, who is associated with the Raghav Group. The investigation involved alleged Hawala transactions and the purchase of expensive watches through illegal means.
Valmiki Scam Concerns
KTR also referred to the ED’s findings that Rs 40 crore linked to the Valmiki scam in Karnataka were transferred to Telangana. Despite these serious allegations, no arrests or formal investigations have been initiated. The Valmiki scam involves alleged corruption in the Maharshi Valmiki ST Corporation, which came to light after an official’s suicide note revealed multi-crore corruption.
KTR alleged a deeper political conspiracy and questioned the delays in investigations into these matters.
