Kremlin Denies Trump-Putin Phone Call on Ukraine Conflict

Moscow, Russia – The Kremlin has dismissed reports of a phone conversation between U.S. President-elect Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Allegedly, Trump urged Putin to avoid escalating the war in Ukraine. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov labeled these reports as “pure fiction.”

The Washington Post claimed Trump took the call from his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, advising Putin against escalating the conflict. Peskov refuted this, stating, “This is completely untrue. This is pure fiction, it’s just false information. There was no conversation.”

When asked about future contacts between Putin and Trump, Peskov mentioned, “There are no concrete plans yet.”

The Washington Post also reported that Trump reminded Putin of the U.S.’s military presence in Europe and discussed the issue of territories. Trump had promised during his campaign to resolve the Ukrainian conflict but did not specify how.

The Ukrainian government was reportedly informed about the call and did not object, understanding that Trump would discuss the matter with Putin.
