Kiren Rijiju to Lead Conclave on Buddha’s Middle Path in Mumbai
The Ministry of Minority Affairs and International Buddhist Confederation are organizing a one-day conclave titled ‘Buddha’s Madhyama Marg/The Middle Path to Guide Global Leadership’ on Saturday, September 14 at the Nehru Science Centre, Worli, Mumbai. Union Minister of Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, will be the chief guest at the event.
The conclave aims to explore ways to spread and internalize universal values for followers of Dhamma across various diversities. It will address current challenges both individually and globally, offering a sustainable model for the future. The event will also honor the legacy of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, a key figure in modern Buddhism.
The Buddha’s Madhyama Marg (Middle Path) and the Eightfold Path cover all aspects of life essential for individual and societal welfare. Buddha Dhamma involves learning, practicing, and experiencing enlightenment.
The conference will feature three sessions: ‘Role and Relevance of Buddha Dhamma in Modern Times,’ ‘Significance of Mindful Techniques,’ and ‘New Age Leadership and Implementation of Buddha Dhamma.’ These panels will discuss practical solutions for universal brotherhood, sustainability, and personal well-being based on Buddha’s teachings.
Historically, Dhamma originated in India and spread throughout Asia, evolving with local cultures. King Ashoka’s rule exemplified how Dhamma can bring peace, prosperity, and harmony. Despite advancements in science and technology, humanity has failed to master Dhamma, leading to global violence and degradation of human values.
