In Islamabad, the much-anticipated PTI public gathering scheduled for August 22 was postponed. The federal government had secret discussions with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur about delaying the event. Despite requests, Gandapur refused to reschedule, setting conditions such as the release of PTI founder Imran Khan from jail.

Gandapur also made it clear that he would not meet Imran Khan in jail and had no authority to postpone the gathering without Khan’s orders. The PTI eventually announced the postponement of the event after the Islamabad administration cancelled the No Objection Certificate. The announcement was made by PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, stating it was at the direction of Imran Khan.
