In the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) MLA Khurshid Ahmad Sheikh displayed a banner advocating for the restoration of Article 370 and 35A. Sheikh explained that he had no other options to voice his concerns after being denied a chance to bring a resolution. The banner led to objections from BJP MLAs, resulting in a scuffle. The Speaker ordered the removal of disruptive members. Meanwhile, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) proposed a resolution demanding the restoration of Article 370 and 35A, condemning their abrogation as unconstitutional. J-K People’s Conference President Sajad Lone criticized the National Conference for not supporting Sheikh, while CPI(M) MLA M Y Tarigami called the assembly chaos unfortunate. The assembly session began on November 4 and will conclude on November 8.
