Kerala Minister P Rajeev Criticizes Karnataka’s Job Quota Bill

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [India], July 18: Kerala Minister P Rajeev has criticized the Karnataka Government’s draft bill on job quotas for Kannadigas in the private sector, calling it ‘unconstitutional.’ He stated that there is no need for reservations as the country’s youth are talented.

‘The Karnataka government’s move is unconstitutional. In Kerala, any investor can come and they are free to recruit anyone based on merit, talent, and skill. We have formulated a new industrial policy identifying priority sectors where our youth can get employment,’ said Minister P Rajeev.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced that the bill, which proposes 50% reservation for administrative posts and 75% for non-administrative posts for Kannadigas in private sector organizations, industries, and enterprises, has been temporarily put on hold. He mentioned that a comprehensive discussion will be held in the next cabinet meeting to make a final decision.
