Kerala Introduces E-Cube Hindi Language Lab

The Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE), part of the General Education Department, has launched a new platform called the E-Cube Hindi Language Lab. This initiative aims to make learning Hindi fun and easy for school students. The platform was inaugurated by V Sivankutty, the Minister for General Education.

About the E-Cube Hindi Language Lab

The E-Cube Hindi Language Lab is a continuation of the successful E-Cube English Language Lab, which has been in use since 2022. It is designed to help students learn and use various languages as part of Kerala’s high-tech school project. The platform is developed using Free and Open-Source Software (FOSS) and can be accessed on existing school laptops without additional costs.

Features and Structure

The platform is divided into three levels, corresponding to grades 5, 6, and 7. Students, teachers, and headteachers have separate logins. Students can engage in interactive activities across five units, focusing on listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The software allows students to save their work and record their voices in audio and video formats. Teachers can monitor and evaluate student progress through their login.

Support and Training

K Anvar Sadath, CEO of KITE, stated that the language lab will be available on all primary school laptops, and teachers will receive training to effectively use the platform.
