Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan Inaugurates India’s First Gen AI Conclave in Kochi

Kochi (Kerala) [India], July 11: The Government of Kerala is dedicated to promoting Artificial Intelligence (AI) investments, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan while inaugurating India’s first Gen AI Conclave in Kochi.

“The Kerala Government is committed to AI-based investment to foster a conducive environment for technological advancements. Kerala is dedicated to leveraging AI for sustainable development and becoming Industry 4.0 ready,” said Vijayan. He anticipates more AI-based investments in the coming years.

Vijayan also mentioned that AI is being integrated into educational institutions, with AI included in school textbooks starting from class 7 and AI training for all teachers.

“Integrating AI into sectors such as education, healthcare, tourism, and IT will enhance quality growth and the quality of life for citizens,” he added. AI-powered tools have shown significant importance in tourism and traffic management.

In the health sector, AI-based solutions can help manage diseases like COVID-19 and Nipah effectively. “Tools and solutions need to be devised to monitor patients and diseases for continued treatment,” he said.

The International GenAI Conclave, co-hosted by the Government of Kerala and IBM, will discuss the impact, challenges, and opportunities of Generative AI for India’s economic advancement and career growth for youth. The event will feature panel discussions, interactive sessions, and product demos.
