KC Venugopal Seeks Compensation for Kerala Family After Flight Cancellation
Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal has written a letter to Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, seeking compensation for the family of Nambi Rajesh, a man from Kerala’s Karamana who passed away in Muscat on May 13. Rajesh’s wife, Amritha, was unable to be by his side during his final moments due to the cancellation of her flight, which was caused by a strike by the cabin crew of Air India Express.
Venugopal shared a copy of the letter on ‘X’, highlighting the need for fair compensation for the family. He stated that the airline’s refusal to provide a refund or compensation is unjust and that no family should undergo such injustice. Venugopal mentioned that the cancellation of the flight added to the family’s grief, as Amritha was unable to secure a ticket for two days and claimed that her husband could have survived if she had been with him when he was hospitalized.
In his letter, Venugopal urged the Minister to intervene in the matter and direct the airline to provide compensation to Rajesh’s family. He emphasized that such an intervention would bring solace to Amritha and her family and reinforce the commitment to protect and support citizens in times of distress. Venugopal expressed hope for a positive response and timely action from the Minister.
