KC Venugopal Criticizes BJP Over Karnataka High Court Verdict Against CM Siddaramaiah

New Delhi, India – Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal has criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following the Karnataka High Court’s decision against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the alleged MUDA scam. Venugopal accused the BJP of attempting to control Karnataka from Delhi and misusing the governor’s office.

Venugopal’s Statements

In a post on X, Venugopal expressed concern over the Modi-Shah regime’s misuse of the governor’s office, stating that governors should not interfere in state government affairs. He claimed that the Karnataka Governor is trying to destabilize a popular government led by Siddaramaiah, who has risen from a humble background.

Venugopal asserted that the Congress government in Karnataka is strong and will only listen to the people, not to the central government. He vowed that the party would fight legally and politically against the central government’s motives.

Criticism of Tamil Nadu Governor

Venugopal also criticized Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi for his remarks on secularism, accusing him of speaking in favor of the RSS. He emphasized that secularism is a fundamental part of the Constitution and that India’s multicultural ethos will endure despite divisive politics.

Karnataka High Court Verdict

The Karnataka High Court dismissed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s petition challenging the approval given by Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot for an investigation into alleged illegalities in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) allotting sites to his wife.
