KC Venugopal Confident in Maha Vikas Aghadi’s Success in Maharashtra Elections
New Delhi, November 14: Congress general secretary KC Venugopal expressed confidence in the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance’s chances in the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. He stated that preparations are progressing well, with the entire leadership involved in the campaign. The elections are set for November 20, with results to be announced on November 23.
In the 2019 elections, the BJP won 105 seats, Shiv Sena 56, and Congress 44. In 2014, BJP secured 122 seats, Shiv Sena 63, and Congress 42.
Venugopal also responded to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s remarks, emphasizing that the Congress party stands for love and affection, not violence and hatred. He criticized the BJP and Yogi Adityanath for allegedly dividing people and neglecting governance for the poor.
Yogi Adityanath had used the slogan ‘batenge to katenge’ at a rally, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi promoted ‘ek hai toh safe hai’. Adityanath discussed strict measures against those allegedly grabbing government land in Uttar Pradesh, warning of consequences for those threatening public safety.
