KC Tyagi and PM Modi Condemn Attack on Hindu Temple in Canada
In New Delhi, Janata Dal-United leader KC Tyagi criticized the Canadian government for a recent attack on a Hindu temple. Tyagi stated, “The Canadian government is responsible for the attack on the temple. We strongly condemn the way some extremist forces have attacked a Hindu place in broad daylight.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also condemned the attack, calling it a “deliberate attack” and criticized attempts to intimidate Indian diplomats. He urged the Canadian authorities to ensure justice and uphold the rule of law. Modi’s statement followed the Ministry of External Affairs’ condemnation of the violence at the Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton, Ontario.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal emphasized the need for protection of places of worship and prosecution of those involved in violence. He reassured that consular services would continue despite intimidation.
The Hindu Canadian Foundation reported that the attack involved Khalistani terrorists targeting children and women. The Indian High Commission in Canada condemned the disruption and stated future events would depend on local security arrangements.
