In Jammu and Kashmir, former Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Kavinder Gupta has strongly condemned a recent terrorist attack on a military vehicle in Baramulla. He described the attack as “very unfortunate” and “a cowardly act.” Gupta emphasized the ongoing efforts of the government and security agencies under a ‘zero tolerance’ policy against terrorism.

Details of the Attack

The attack resulted in the deaths of two Indian Army soldiers and two civilian porters. Additionally, one soldier and one porter were injured and are currently receiving medical treatment. The incident occurred during a firefight between the Indian Army and terrorists in the Butapathri area of Baramulla.

Security Operations

Following the attack, search operations continued in Baramulla. The Chinar Corps, based in Srinagar, confirmed the injuries and ongoing operations in the area. In a separate incident on the same day, a labourer named Pritam Singh from Uttar Pradesh was injured in a terrorist attack in the Batgund Tral area of Pulwama district.

Recent Terrorist Activities

Earlier, on October 20, a tragic attack on a tunnel construction site on the Srinagar-Leh national highway in Ganderbal district resulted in the deaths of a doctor and six construction workers.
