Kavinder Gupta Condemns Terrorist Attack in Pulwama
In Jammu and Kashmir, former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta has strongly condemned a recent terrorist attack on a laborer in Pulwama, describing it as a cowardly act. Gupta expressed concerns that terrorists are attempting to disrupt the region’s peace following the formation of the government. He urged both the central and state governments to take measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
Gupta stated, “Terrorists have tried to damage the atmosphere in J&K after the formation of Government. They want to give a message and that is why the last two attacks occurred and a third attack happened today…This is a cowardly attack and terrorists were seen in CCTV footage. Security forces have taken cognisance of this and I think they will be neutralised soon.”
Earlier, a laborer named Pritam Singh from Uttar Pradesh was injured in the Batgund Tral area of Pulwama district. Security forces responded promptly to the incident. This attack follows a previous incident on October 20, where terrorists killed a doctor and six construction workers at a tunnel construction site on the Srinagar-Leh national highway in Ganderbal district.
Farooq Abdullah’s Response
NC President Farooq Abdullah also condemned the attacks, attributing them to Pakistan. He emphasized the need for Pakistan to end terrorism for better relations with India, stating, “Kashmir Pakistan nahi Banega.” Abdullah urged for an end to terrorism to allow the people of Jammu and Kashmir to live peacefully and with dignity.
