Karolina Muchova made a strong comeback after nine months, defeating Magda Linette 6-4, 6-1 to advance to the Rothesay International quarterfinals. Muchova, who had been sidelined due to a wrist injury, will next face defending champion Madison Keys. Keys overcame Anhelina Kalinina 7-6(5), 6-1, saving two set points in the process.

Muchova’s return match was cut short when Elina Avanesyan retired due to injury, but she quickly demonstrated her skills against Linette, breaking her opponent in the opening game and saving all eight break points.

Meanwhile, Katie Boulter defeated Jelena Ostapenko 6-4, 7-5 to advance. Boulter, who has had a strong grass-court season, will face either Jasmine Paolini or Elise Mertens in her next match. Boulter expressed her strategy, saying, “I just tried to be as aggressive and consistent as I could be and make her play every single ball.”
