Karnataka’s Minister M.B. Patil Promotes KWIN City and Investment Opportunities in New York
Karnataka’s Minister for Large and Medium Industries, M.B. Patil, recently visited New York to engage with global industry leaders and top academic institutions. The discussions focused on enhancing Karnataka’s global partnerships and attracting investments in key sectors like space technology, semiconductors, research, healthcare, and higher education.
Introducing KWIN City
A central topic was the newly launched Knowledge, Wellbeing, and Innovation (KWIN) City, a 5,800-acre development near Dobbespet. This project aims to complement Bengaluru and drive industrial growth, offering opportunities across multiple sectors.
Key Meetings and Invitations
Patil met with Biju KK from Fidelity Center for Applied Technology to discuss growth options in KWIN City and invited them to Invest Karnataka 2025. He also engaged with Columbia University leaders about their potential role in KWIN City’s education district.
In the space sector, Patil met with Tejpaul Bhatia of Axiom Space to explore collaboration opportunities, inviting them to Invest Karnataka 2025. Discussions with Blake Opsahl of Beta Technologies and Pavan Bakshi of Hunch Mobility focused on urban air mobility, with an invitation to establish eVTOL operations in Karnataka.
Patil also met with Suresh Mirchandani from Beacon Industries to discuss strategic investments, emphasizing industrial growth and innovation. A roundtable hosted by the Consulate General of India in New York allowed Patil to present Karnataka’s investment opportunities to U.S. business executives, inviting them to the Invest Karnataka 2025 Global Investors Meet.
