Karnataka Ministers Criticize PM Modi’s Comments on Congress Promises

In Bengaluru, Karnataka ministers have expressed strong disapproval of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent remarks about the Congress party’s unfulfilled promises. Minister HK Patil labeled Modi’s comments as “irresponsible,” questioning the Prime Minister’s attitude towards state governments. Patil emphasized that the Lok Sabha election results were a clear message to the central government.

IT Minister Priyank Kharge also criticized Modi, calling him “ill-informed” and urging for a transparent discussion on economic issues. Kharge highlighted Karnataka’s growth, despite challenges, and called for accountability from the central government. He pointed out that Karnataka’s growth rate was revised from 4% to 13.1% under Modi’s leadership.

Kharge challenged Modi to an open debate comparing the guarantees made by both parties. He questioned the BJP’s promises, such as “2 crore jobs” and “smart cities,” and highlighted Karnataka’s successful welfare schemes like Gruhalakshmi and Annabhagya. Kharge accused the BJP of copying these initiatives and criticized the central government’s lack of support for state programs.

PM Modi had accused Congress of making empty promises, claiming that the fiscal health in Congress-ruled states was deteriorating. He urged the public to be cautious of Congress’s “fake promises” and cited Haryana’s election results as evidence of Congress’s rejection by the people.
