Karnataka Minister Sharan Prakash Patil Orders Transparent Recruitment for Medical Staff
Karnataka Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil has directed officials to fill Group A vacancies only through the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) by conducting competitive exams. This decision was made to ensure transparency and prevent corruption in the recruitment process.
Recruitment Details
The minister instructed the officials to recruit 650 Assistant Professors and 1200 nurses through KEA. This move aims to regulate the recruitment process and fill vacant posts in 33 government medical institutions, including 22 medical colleges and 11 super speciality hospitals across the state.
Amendment of Bylaws
To facilitate this, the department’s recruitment bylaws will be amended to allow KEA to conduct tests for the vacant posts. An expert committee will be formed to create a syllabus for these tests.
Ensuring Proper Rules
The proposal to recruit nurses through KEA was sent by the government a couple of years ago. However, KEA had difficulties due to the absence of proper rules. Minister Patil has now directed the Department of Medical Education to follow the applicable rules for nurse recruitment under the health and family welfare department.
